Taking Attendance
Attendance in EduMawu SIS is tracked per lesson and period, not just once a day — so a teacher taking attendance for period 3 sees exactly the students on that class's register for that subject and time slot, and marks each one Present, Absent, or Late (with an optional remark for context, useful for recording things like "left early — dentist appointment"). Because it's per-period, a student who missed morning periods but arrived for the afternoon shows up accurately in reports, rather than being marked absent for the whole day.
Class teachers can also submit a full daily register in one pass. A register starts as a draft, and once the class teacher submits it, it's locked — keeping a clean audit trail while still letting an administrator step in and make a correction if something was recorded wrong.
Reporting goes well beyond a single class list: administrators can pull attendance broken down by class, by subject, or as a trend for one individual student over a term, plus a separate view for exam-hall attendance during formal assessments. Parents with portal access can see their child's attendance history in real time.
